You Should Ditch Tradition: Why Your Wedding Should Be Uniquely YOU

I’ve been in the wedding photography industry for quite some time, and I’ve seen my fair share of classic white gowns, cathedral veils, and traditional wedding aesthetics. But every now and then, a couple comes along who completely flips the script—and I absolutely love it! This recent wedding was a perfect example. The bride’s dress? Unlike anything I’ve ever seen. It was bold, stunning, and fit perfectly with their underlying occult-inspired theme. Watching her walk down the aisle in a gown that truly reflected her personality was incredible. She owned her look, and it made the photos even more breathtaking.

Weddings like this remind me why I do what I do—capturing moments that feel authentic, personal, and completely one-of-a-kind. If you want to see for yourself, check out some of the sample images below! And if you’re curious about the full day, head over to my previous blog post for a deep dive into their wedding story. Plus, don’t miss the wedding highlight video—trust me, it’s worth the watch!

If you’re planning your big day and feeling the pressure to follow tradition, let this be your sign to throw the rulebook out the window. Your wedding should be about what makes you and your partner happy—not about what’s expected. Whether it’s an unconventional dress, a non-traditional venue, or a totally unique theme, embracing your individuality will make your wedding so much more memorable (and trust me, the photos will be next-level amazing).

If you’re looking for a wedding photographer who will capture your vision exactly how you imagine it, I’d love to chat! Let’s create something uniquely you.
