Spring Vibes & Natural Light: A Portrait Session at Morristown Arboretum

As a portrait photographer in North Jersey, I have to admit—portrait sessions are some of my absolute favorites. There’s something special about slowing down, getting to know my client, and letting creativity guide the session. This recent shoot at the Morristown Arboretum was a perfect reminder of why I love this work so much. If you’ve never visited this North Jersey gem in the spring, you need to—it’s full of blooming flowers and lush greenery, creating a stunning backdrop for portraits.

This was my third time working with this amazing client, and it was incredible to see how much she’s grown in front of the camera. Her posing, confidence, and overall vibe were on point—making the photos feel effortless and genuine. As a photographer, I always look forward to watching my clients evolve and become more comfortable with each shoot. It’s one of the best parts of what I do!

While I typically bring flash gear for my portrait work, this time I decided to keep things natural and lean into the soft, ambient light of spring. It gave the photos a fresh, airy feel—and made for a more discreet setup, which was perfect for the peaceful garden setting.
