This one’s a special one! I had the absolute pleasure of photographing Sophia Hockman, our talented creative director, as she branches out and launches her very own contract consulting business: ProContract Consulting LLC. It was a no-brainer—we had to get her in front of the camera for some clean, professional, and personality-packed branding photos.

Let’s talk about the shoot. Branding sessions are often quick—usually under 30 minutes—but for Sophia, I wanted to take the extra time to help her get comfortable and relaxed in front of the lens. We went with a two-light setup: the Flashpoint 600D as the key light and the Flashpoint 200D as a rim. To elevate the look, I used the Eyelighter 3, one of my favorite tools. It’s arc-shaped, which mirrors the natural curve of the eye, giving us gorgeous, flattering catchlights and soft fill under the chin. It’s a bit of a setup, but totally worth it.
Lighting is everything when it comes to professional headshots in NJ, and these two flashes are my go-tos. The 200D is perfect for when I need a low-profile setup, while the 600D gives me the power to work in even the brightest conditions. If you're looking to elevate your own photography, mastering flash is hands-down one of the best things you can do.
